The Team
We are educational technologists, software developers, and project managers who have worked together for more than twenty years, nearly all of it inside schools. We were foundational in creating a number of the most respected independent and university-affiliated schools in the country, and we have run the technology that keeps schools like them working every day.
We have been the people who make schools successful. Now we are building software so that many more schools can be.
Each of these schools drew on our team while it was being built, from the systems it runs on to the planning that got it open.
The School at Columbia University
Columbia University's K-8 school.
The Stanford New School
Stanford University, Stanford Schools Corporation.
The Speyer Legacy School
Independent school for accelerated learners, New York.
The Ross School
East Hampton, New York.
San Francisco Friends School
Quaker K-8, San Francisco.
Avenues: The World School
New York, with campuses worldwide. We were part of the initial consulting team.
Opening a school means building everything at once: rosters, schedules, attendance, billing, and the family communication around all of it. We have done that work from the inside, on deadline, more than once.
Not what a district needs, scaled down. Independent and private schools bill differently, staff differently, and answer to families directly. Our software is shaped around that from the start, so there is far less to configure away.
Our work runs at respected independent schools, university-affiliated schools, and international campuses, alongside public sector and enterprise engagements.
Afterschool and auxiliary programs are where good schools still lose time: paper sign-in sheets, spreadsheet rosters, and billing that eats a week of someone's month. That is a solvable problem, and it is the one we picked.
Knowing exactly what an independent school needs means we can build the right thing instead of a configurable everything. Schools start in days rather than through a months-long implementation, because the defaults already match how they work.
It also changes the price. Afterschool Tracker has no monthly software fee, no setup fee, and no per-student charges. We are funded by a small platform fee on the payments the software processes, so it only earns when it is actually doing your billing.
We are a small team, so when you get in touch you are talking to the people who build and run the product. No handoff to an account manager, no script. We like hearing how your program actually works.
